PARK
GENERAL INFORMATION

The POA Park is located at the Long Beach Towne Centre (behind Lowe’s & Wal-Mart). 

Rental Fees for the year 2008 will be as follows:
Monday through Thursday  -  $600 per day + $200 cleaning deposit.
Friday through Sunday        -  $1,200 per day + $200 cleaning deposit.

Park Rental Hours: 12:01 am to 10:00 pm the day of your event.

The park holds approximately 5,000 people.

The kitchen contains a refrigerator, freezer, sink, stove, griddle, two ovens, a large table and a built-in can opener.  No utensils are provided.  Additionally, the kitchen doors roll up to make a serving area to the outside.

There are 15 rectangular picnic tables under a covered cabana.  They seat 300 to 500 people.  They measure approximately 3'x 20'.  There are outside lights in the cabana area.

A stationary barbecue grill is available.  Renters provide their own charcoal.

A deep pit is available for roasting large amounts of meat (pig, etc.) for an additional $100.00 cleaning fee, which is non-refundable.

A stage is located west of the deep pit.

Restrooms are located in the southwest corner of the park.

A children's playground containing a modular play set is also located in the southwest area of the park.

A horseshoe pit is available at the northwest corner of the park.

There are electrical outlets which are located in the kitchen, along the front fence, under the cabana and near the stage.  All outlets are 110v except for one outlet on the front fence that is 220v.

There are no public phones on the premises.

Parking is allowed in the designated area in front of the park.  There are 83 spaces, including 3 disabled parking spaces.  There is additional parking on the street leading to the park.  NO PARKING is allowed in the Police Academy parking lot or the Walmart parking lot, or risk being towed at your expense.  With prior arrangements, overflow parking is allowed in El Dorado Park for additional charge per car.

Tents are allowed in the grass area as long as the tent stakes are no longer than 12 inches in length.

Portable restrooms, game booths, rides, etc., are permitted on the premises as long as they are removed from the premises the same day.

Signs may be placed at the following three designated spots only:  1) On the Police Academy sign, at the Lowe's entrance, on Academy Way. 2) The sign closer to the Academy, and 3) On the POA Park gate itself.  Under no circumstances are signs or balloons allowed on light posts, trees, grass area, or in the Towne Center.  The signs must be removed at the end of the day, or you may not get a full cleaning refund.

NO STAPLES, NAILS, OR TAPE (other than BLUE MASKING tape) will be allowed. 

Trash cans are provided. All groups are required to provide their own 33-gallon trash can liners with ties.

A Park Cleaning checklist is provided to specifically state what must be completed to receive a cleaning deposit refund.

The park is rented daily.  We cannot allow for food or other supplies to be stored on the premises prior to your event.

Renters are required to provide a general liability insurance coverage of $1,000,000 for their event, with the Long Beach Police Officers Association and the City of Long Beach as additional insured.

Alcohol is permitted in the park. A one-day license is required from the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board if you’re planning to sell alcohol.  You must abide by all of the rules and regulations of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.

DISCLAIMER:  The POA Park is completely separate from the Police Pistol Range.  The POA does not have control of or knowledge about the Police Pistol Range scheduling.  Events at the range do not pose any danger to occupants of the park.  However, there is the possibility of a noise nuisance.
