• Administrative:  Disciplinary actions
  • On Duty:  Covered without exception or consideration to course and scope of employment
  • Off Duty:  Covered without exception
  • Administrative Costs:  All reasonable and necessary costs and expenses related to an action.
• Officer Involved Shootings, on or off duty, hit or miss, are covered in or out of scope of employment.
• Civil / Criminal:  Coverage is provided thru Fraternal Order of Police Legal Plan, Inc.

Legal representation in any civil or criminal action brought an officer arising from any act or omission of the Participant within the scope of his or her employment, including civil or criminal action brought as a result of the Participant's involvement in Concerted Labor Activity, subject minor exceptions

• Grievances:  Final steps of the grievance process may be handled by plan attorney, regardless of the nature of the appeal or grievance. 
• ---There are no deductibles or co-pays with this program, all expenses are included in your monthly dues. 
• ---Appeals beyond civil service are handled on a case by case basis with nearly 90% of cases going beyond civil service, at no cost to the officer, should the officer wish to proceed with the litigation and, in the opinion of the handling attorney, is not a frivolous appeal.
